Harder than hickory!
Balanced and carefully crafted using hand-selected white oak. Grown in the mountainous regions of Japan, this particular species of oak is a harder wood than hickory and will take more wear, tear, and punishment. It resists chipping and wearing soft. Made with Pro-Mark's exclusive Millennium II manufacturing process, each stick is hand-finished and hand-inspected. The result is a strength and durability no other stick can match.

Comments about PROMARK 6-Pair Japanese White Oak Drumsticks:
I have been in search of, and unfortunately remain so, a modern replacement for my "antique" Billy Cobham 767s I played for years back "in the good ol' days" which are no longer manufactured. These sticks were a suggested replacement.
Although these sticks appear to be made from the same, or similar, Japanese Oak that the beefier sticks, ala 767s, of days gone by were made from, as a direct replacement for my beloved 767s, they were a tad off mark. In comparison to the 767s, the stick circumference is a little smaller, thus rendering the overall stick weight a little lighter, and the bead is much more "pointy", like a standard elongated oval seen on most sticks, as opposed to the more rounded tip that the Cobham's were noted for.
