I play in a worship band and if I become a heavy striker, they will bring out the "plastic cage." These sticks keep me from hitting too hard as they are shorter than most sticks. They are also good for tight layouts. They also have a great sound on cymbals due to the design of the tip. They are wood tips so they deteriorate over time.

Ill grant you they're not the strongest in the world, and since a heavy hitter I tend to kill them rather quickly, but they're great for close-quarters playing (electric kits) and jazzy beats. They also free up some speed. I highly recommend them.
