Harder than hickory!

Pro-Mark Japanese white oak drumsticks are balanced and carefully crafted using hand-selected white oak. Grown in the mountainous regions of Japan, this particular species of oak is a harder wood than hickory and will take more wear, tear, and punishment. It resists chipping and wearing soft. Made with Pro-Mark's exclusive Millennium II manufacturing process, each stick is hand-finished and hand-inspected. The result is a strength and durability no other stick can match.

Features

  • Harder than hickory
  • Resists chipping
  • Won't wear soft
  • Hand-finished

I have several different models of the Shira Kashi Oak, mostly 5As and Jazz sizes; some nylon-tipped, some wood. They all play great. Very rigid, and balanced, and the finish is natural and great to the touch. These are a bit heavier than hickory, and yet play with finesse--assuming you have it... I love the solid feel, gunshot rim shots, and confidence they give. And--they are hard to break! A solid 5 stars from yours truly. Great sticks - never had a bad set!

The only stick I'll use

By Max Stratmann

from Undisclosed

Comments about Pro-Mark Japanese White Oak Drumsticks:

I personally use the 747 Nylon tipped sticks, and I don't want to use any other. The are small, but have decent weight. Also, the durability is absolutely ridiculous. I'm not the hardest hitter in the world, but I hit fairly hard and I can usually make a pair last about 2 months before they break. Definitely awesome bang for the buck.

727 Nylon Japanese White Oaks

By deadly_do_rock

from columbus, ohio

Comments about Pro-Mark Japanese White Oak Drumsticks:

If you're in a playing situation where heavier sticks are too loud, these are great sticks. The typical 7A's are too short for me to swing or rock it. I do prefer nylon for it's definition, but the 16 1/4 length makes them feel much stronger in your hands. And my bandmates don't complain about over-powering them acoustically. Pricey, yes. But you are worth it.

best sticks I've ever played

By Drew-MWV4b

from Ames, IA

Comments about Pro-Mark Japanese White Oak Drumsticks:

I've used a lot of sticks over the years, a lot of different weights, woods, and grades, and I've become firmly convinced that it's worth every penny to buy Japanese white oak promarks. I play better when I'm holding well made sticks rather than B grade cheapie sticks. They're always excellent quality, and pretty stinkin hard to break. They are more dense than most sticks for a given diameter, so I play sticks that are a little smaller than what I might use otherwise.

This is the ONLY drumstick I've used for over 15 years

By Michael Hanker

from Downey, Ca

Comments about Pro-Mark Japanese White Oak Drumsticks:

I've been drumming for over 20 years and this stick is the ONLy drumstick I use because I cant break it. I've tried Tama, Ziljian, Regal Tip and Vic Firth sticks and snapped tham all like tiwgs. I've been using the Pro -Mark Oak 5B and 2B sticks since like 1988 unto present day as a Solo Artist. You cant go wrong with using OAK sticks. Vey well done Pro-Mark!! =)

Very Durable

By Matt-LQMqC

from Milwaukee,WI

Comments about Pro-Mark Japanese White Oak Drumsticks:

I use the 747s and these sticks take a beating. Sometimes I go 3-4 shows without breaking a stick and I pound my cymbals alot. These sticks are a little heavier than hickory so I dropped one size and I can play 50 songs a night with no arm fatigue. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

wood tips forever

By Steve B

from Schaghticoke, NY

Comments about Pro-Mark Japanese White Oak Drumsticks:

As durable as nylon tips are I have never liked what they do to perfectly good ride cymbals, they just become cold and tinging. If you like that to each his own, but if not, get a set of Japanese oak pro-mark sticks. Being a wood fanatic I have shredded the tips of countless hickory sticks. I have 2 pairs of Japanese oak sticks. One left to me by a former church drummer with nylon tips I refuse to use, and one pair with wooden tips that I have owned for almost a year and are just starting to show signs of wear (on the tips). If you like the sound of wood but hate dull splintering stick tips BUY THESE STICKS.

sweet

Comments about Pro-Mark Japanese White Oak Drumsticks:

In my two year drumming ive tried hickory, maple, you name it, it diddent work. Then i found japanese oak and i loved it, it lasted me the lonest of all my drum sticks. Even big heavy sticks broke much sooner than thin oak ones. GREAT BUY!
