The eliminator is underestimated by most people, mainly Iron Cobra players. Because of this negative criticism from those players, many people got the IC instead because its supposedly smoother, but with the two pedals, IC rolling, next to each other, I couldn't feel a difference with the black cam. and with the white cam its even smoother. To match the IC power you only have to change the cam to red, which takes five minutes max and requires no tools, and you get an equal, more powerful pedal. Before I bought this, I wanted an Ic power because I thought it accelerated a lot, but wen I tried the eliminator, I found the red cam is so offset and has so much acceleration that when I played faster parts my notes slurred, but I lost finer control. You can fix that in 5 minutes by changing the cam to blue, which gives a medium between the black and red so it feels like an IC power. If you want more control and smoothness than speed, than the white cam, which I use, is good. It's an oversized version of a black cam which offers the smoothness of a belt drive, which this pedal can be converted to if you buy an optional belt. The only flaw with this pedal is that the adjustable footboard has 3 settings instead of being fully adjustable like the IC. But the settings that it has are fine because they still allow you to change the feel. That and the beater are the only things that are worse than the IC. ICs aren't adjustable to meet all my needs and expectations. But then IC players brag but the IC comes with a hard plastic case, but the eliminator has a NICE case that most sites don't mention. The case is like a duffel style hard case. It also includes a nifty strap and pearl stitched into it. The case also has a bunch of zipper compartments to store extra accessories. The pedal also includes two drum keys and two sets of allen wrenches. bottom line is, if you want a pedal to feel custom made to your needs, then eliminator is the pedal for you.

when i first bought this double pedal i was more than happy with it. it was smooth, quiet and everything else that people have said. however after a year and a few months this pedal started to have a considerable amount of excess movement in the footboard. it moves from left to right abt 1cm (just less than 1/2 an inch). ive heard that the ICs hold up in their structural integrity for a much longer time which is why im considering switching. pearl was great but now the pedal is just annoying me with its constant clicking sound. it'd be nice if some people would review theirs again after 2 years and see if they still recommend it wholeheartedly

Great for Roland kits

By CheapB

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

Was originally considering a gibraltar drum pedal, but found out it did not mount easily on Roland Kick pads. Got this one instead and is very happy. it is very adjustable - 3 different cams, 4 side beaters etc. and it works very well with Roland kits. Instructions could be better, but there are a lot of forums online where you can get help.

5 star product!!...For a while

By Big Man

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

I switched to the eliminator after buying by last Pearl kit from Iron Cobras. These pedals were awesome at first but they broke down on me after a couple of years. I didn't think they were as smooth as my IC's. Probably because they don't have an actual bearing between the heel plate and board. This is where the failure occured for me too. The screws were constantly coming out and finally stripped the housing out rendering the pedal useless. While not as smooth the custom tailoring with the cams is awesome and almost limitless. You ARE NOT STUCK with one feel! The cams do make a difference in feel and it is like buying 4 pedals. I have switched back to IC's now but I do miss the different cams. Overall these pedals are great if you are gigging with different styles/bands. They do get a bit squeaky for studio work but most do...Machine oil works as always!

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

This is the definiton of a bass drum pedal...this pedal is so smooth and fast!!! I was using gibraltar double pedal the avenger model. This pedal is really awesome..fast,smooth and stable...also i've always thought that the cams won't differ that big...but i when i tried changing them...they r awesomeeahc one gives a different feeling..also u can switch between belt or chain drive easily!!!!anyway don't think that this pedal will change ur way of playing...it depends on how much u practice first..which is the most important factor...i can't really claim that the cobras are bad...but i ((prefer)) the pearl more..just try to use this pedals b4 u buy them!!this is an excellent smooth pedal!!thanks really to musiciansfriend ,they helped me a lot to choose this pedal according to my style of playingif anybody want any ifno about that pedal, just mail me ,hint:when i received this pedal there was a screw missing...so check it wisely b4 u buy!!

A Great Value

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

Here is some advice for people who are planning on buying a new Double-Pedal. It is very frustrating choosing over the three main double pedals on the market, which would be the DW 9002, Tama Iron Cobra, and the Pearl Eliminator Power Shifter. All three are great pedals, however, if you were to take a durability test, the DW will not stand through as much and the other 2 pedals. There have been many incidences of the chains breaking and the foot-boards snapping in half. You can even look in the hardware section of the Pearl Drummer Forum. It is about Drum Pedals and is near the top of the list. You will see that the Iron cobra and the Pearl elimator have thick, ribbed designs, but the DW dosnt, which makes it weaker AND also the footplate is THINNER than the other pedals. IT is still a great pedal, it is very smooth and all, but in the long run it isnt worth it because it dosnt last as long as the other pedals and your are paying twice as much for it. Now, onto the main hype of all drum pedals, The Iron cobra i must say is VERY rigid and durable, except, it was mainly only designed for METAL and not other styles of music. If you play only metal, and HEAVY styles of music, GET THE IRON COBRA, if you play many styles like me, get the Pearl Eliminator. Why? because the pearl pedal can play heavy metal (red or blue cams) or punk rock/emo (blue or black cams) or softer, calmer, slower music such as songs like "I miss you" by blink-182 (white cam) with the Iron Cobra, it would be hard to adjust to playing those kind of songs because it only has the offset cam. Both Pedals are great, it is just about picking which one that suits YOU the best. I agree the iron cobra is better if you ONLY play HEAVY music, but the Pearl can play ANYTHING very well, it is just the iron cobra specializes in metal. Also, travis barker broke i think 2-4 DW 9002 foot pedals during his touring and a drummer in a popular band (i think Avenged Sevenfold, not sure though) broke 6 (!) DW 9002 foot pedals! (i got this info from the pearl drummers forum, even check for yourself, it is in the double pedal post i was talking about earlier) If you are really rich and can afford to buy a $500 DW pedal every 1-2 years, go ahead, but the iron cobra or the Pearl will last forever unless heavily abused every single day for 12 hours. The Pearl has the versatility, and the Iron cobra has the huge durability. Dont listen to people who are biased and say "GET THIS, it is the fastest and is the best!" it is all about your style of playing, so to wrap it all up, Pearl is great for people who play many styles of music, and The Iron Cobra is great for Heavy Metal players and nothing else. it CAN still play other styles, but it would be more difficult and would have more of a learning curve against you.(what this means is that it will take more time to adjust) they are both VERY HIGH QUALITY pedals.I hope this has helped you.

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

These double bass pedals are perfect. The interchangeable Cam parts allow you to get a different feel for when you pedal. I use the red for the left foot and black for the right. This makes peddling a lot easier for me. Really cool. I highly recommend these

Very Precise, and fast at the same time

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

This is a very good double bass drum pedal because it is very adjustable to fit YOUR needs and it looks cool. The one thing I don't think anybody else mentioned was that even though it is a double pedal, it feels EXACTLY like a double bass drum kit unlike iron cobra's.This pedal is also very stable unlike IRON COBRA's and it actually there is a much smoother response and much more speed. In all the 33 years of playing I don't think I have ever had a better double bass drum pedal and trust me I know what I am talking about because I have been playing double bass drum pedals ever since I was 12 years old. (coincidence) This double pedal is at a PROFESSIONAL LEVEL but ITS SO EASY TO ADJUST AND USE ANYONE CAN USE IT AND SOUND LIKE THEY HAVE YEARS EXPERIENCE ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE ONLY PLAYED FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS!!! I gave this to my son because he was inspired by me to play drums and he has only started playing for 3 months and he sounds like me doing that fast roll on the video that I practiced for 4 years!!!! This pedal works wonders.Tony Royster

Very accurate pedal

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

I have always been a pearl pedal fan, but never owned one until this one.Pros - very versatile, suits any style playing, loud firm direct hit every stroke, fast adjusting, very fast basically will run itself.Cons - will squeak and the bearing will start to click with daily use, may not last on the road like a dw,All in all I wouldn't play any other pedal, I like a tight spring , you can get that with this.

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

I've had this pedal for several months now and it is awesome. It's smooth and can easily adjust to each individual needs of a drummer. It is so durable, and has withstood my hard playing. And it's price is way better than any other double bass pedals that are as professional as this. I would highly recommend this pedal to anyone who is taking drumming seriously.

Great pedal for all

By Teach

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

Great double pedal for all players, from the newbies that I teach to the advanced, to me. Its an amazing pedal, the speed I get from it is just plain amazing, and the four different heads helps when trying to make unique songs. I really enjoy playing metal with this pedal, along with jazz and any type of rock. It feels like nothing it under your foot, and like your taping the ground. It is also great for teaching double pedal techniques and beats. Very easy-to-use double pedal.
