Comments about Pearl Clave Block:
Pearl's yellow clave block is comparable in tone to the LP blue "jam block," their higher-pitch block. I've played both, and really enjoy the new addition of this Pearl yellow block (I haven't heard the green or orange ones.) While it sounds to me to be basically the same tone as the LP blue, the Pearl block is thicker than the LP block, and that gives it a beefier feel when you hit it. I think it adds more volume and cutting power as well. I'm playing classic rock, and it successfully projects very clearly through my partners' three guitar amps, plus bass. It has a very clear and sharp attack. We do a number of country-rock songs, and it's been a tremendous addition in those selections. Very solid and durable in feel, and mounts nice and tight to a post, with the curved shape and adjustable connector for easy fitting in and around your other pieces. A great addition.
