Comments about Paiste Giant Beat 24" Ride Cymbal:

I recently purchased a set of Paiste Giant Beats. All I can say is wow! These cymbals have an extremely pure shimmering tone. Absolutely no weird overtones or harshness. They are much warmer than the 2002 series. They are pretty responsive and thin, yet they feel solid under the stick. Their frequencies sit in the mix of any music very well. They are out of the way of the vocals and guitars. They work great with acoustic singer/song-writer stuff, rock, jazz, anything. They have an incredibly huge dynamic range. They sound full, warm, shimmering at any volume. This is how cymbals are supposed to sound.

Paiste's are the best

Comments about Paiste Giant Beat 24" Ride Cymbal:

This is the best ride cymbal on the market. period. I've been waiting for these giant beats because I wanted to capture the sound that John Bonham made on Led Zeppelin 1-4. In my opinion, these are far better than the 2002 series, which he used in his later career. They have a more rich, and full tone. Plus I like the darker look to them. If you are still unsure about purchasing right-away, I recommend visiting, where you can listen to the cymbals online, or you can just listen to early zeppelin, because what you hear is what you'll get.

It's about time!!

Comments about Paiste Giant Beat 24" Ride Cymbal:

These cymbals are amazing I own the whole set. Years ago when I set out to get the sound Bonham had, everyone steered me toward the 2002's and while they are great. I was looking for the sound he got on Zeppelin3 and 4 and later found they were Giant Beats. If you love that sound too buy these cymbals . Listen to Black Dog and Misty Mtn. Hop and that's what you'll be getting..They are strong yet shimmering and beautiful. To me they are a bit more musical and warm than the 2002 series.

The Giant has returned!

Comments about Paiste Giant Beat 24" Ride Cymbal:

This cymbal series' re-launch was a long time coming! I bought the 24" hoping to have the versatility of being able to ride with great stick definition and to have an ease of crashing like the originals I've heard on recordings by John Bonham and others who used them in the late 60s and early 70s. I was not disappointed. This cymbal is just amazing, crashes like a crash cymbal, rides with a woody stick up to a ping just by slight adjustment of sticking pressure and believe it or not, you can do some nice jazz patterns that will more than do justice in that genre as well. Light airy crashes while doing jazz ride patterns would seem at odds with a Rock ride, but this cymbal does them beautifully. Classic Rock type riding for anything like Hendrix through Led Zep and beyond sound spot on and gorgeous! But don't take my word for it, do your ears a favor and listen to the best plate Paiste is now making in person, whether you are ready to purchase one or not.
