A light, comfortable pandeiro drum with extra-dry jingles and a weather resistant head.
Meinl's Vented Jingle Pandeiro features a True Feel synthetic head and comes with perforated brass jingles for a different look and sound. The True Feel head prevents the drum's pitch from being affected by moisture. An internal tuning system frees the outside surface of the shell from protruding hardware and makes the pandeiro frame drum especially light and comfortable.

Comments about Meinl Vented Jingle Pandeiro:
There are a few things I would change. I wish Meinl would use their NAPA head technology for this pandeiro as it would make it more versatile for different styles of brazilian music as well as other modern styles (ie. more low-end). Also, the "jingles" or plantinelas are not actual platinelas. Usually platinelas are 1 metal disc between two brass or chrome plates. This pandeiro doesn't have the middle plate. So there's a flimsy thin sound to the jinlges.
The shell is really thick compared to the other 3 pandeiros I own ( by about 3 or 4 times). The weight is ok.
The shell tuning design is something different. My worry is that I wont be able to change the head if I break it or it wears out because its stapled onto the shell.
Overall, the pandeiro looks nice and has a neat design with manageable weight, but leaves much to be desired sound wise. You'll need some tape and patience if you really want to get a good low-end sound out of it. Otherwise, if you are using it for styles in which a tightly tuned plastic head is preferred (which is probably the intended use of this pandeiro), than I guess this pandeiro is ok.
I probably should have gotten the goat skin version but I hate having to re-tune the head due to temperature fluctuations while I'm playing and also the fact that the heads are stapled to the shell...But at least that pandeiro has legit plantinelas. You live and learn.
