This guiro is ideal if you don't mind a slightly plastic sound. The trade-off is that it will last you the rest of your life. Changing from a plastic to a wooden stick really makes a big difference in the sound, also. It has a nice solid, balanced feel. Very comfortable to play.

You can't go wrong with this guiro. It's very durable and the thumb and finger holes are lined with rubber, so it's comfortable to hold and hard to drop. Try different scapers to get different sounds and dynamics. Great for a symphonic band, steel drum band, latin percussion section, etc.
