Kontrol Screen drumheads are an alternative drumhead technology Hart Dynamics has been working on since the early '90s. They are the next generation of mesh drumhead technology and are as close to their Mylar (acoustic drumhead) counterparts as it gets. I have been playing 4-6 nights per week using Hart Dynamics drums and these heads are the most durable I have ever played. Electronic OR NOT. I play pretty hard and have gotten over 6 months of use from my Kontrol Screen snare drum head! The feel is much better over Roland, seriously. Double and single stroke rolls are a blast! I have never had a snare head which lasted this long in my 10 years of playing professionally. Plus they are made in the US!

Roland two-ply heads are light years ahead of Hart Magnums, but Roland only makes 8-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch sizes. So, if you need a size other than what Roland makes, Hart is your best bet. They're bouncy and don't like to stay tight, and they've nearly doubled in price over the last couple of years, but they're the best choice when Rolands can't be had.
