Having lower back issues, I really needed to get some type of support for my back. I tend to sit low and slouch while I'm playing.

I have a Gibraltar 9800 series motorcycle style throne and it has the hardware to accept a back rest. Digging around the web, I found that Gibraltar did have a specific back rest for my throne series but was no longer available - the GUBR was my only option. I contacted Gibraltar and asked if my throne's backrest slot would accept the GUBR w/out the universal attachment. They stated that it wouldn't. I'm here to say - IT DOES!

The universal attachment is virtually identical to the built in housing on the throne seat. Why would they make two different items? the GUBR is nothing more than the same back rest with an attachment for the throne base. If you have recent Gibraltar throne with a back rest slot on the seat, it'll probably fit.

Beyond being compatible with current Gibraltar thrones; it's sturdy, adjustable and comfortable. It's not meant to be used like a lay-z-boy, but you can lean into it without the fear that its' going to buckle under the weight.

I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Awesome Gibraltar quality. very comfortable on the lower back. if you like to sit low as I do, this may not work. it adds close to 3 inches in height, which may not be an issue to some but noticeable for me. As any good musician would do, I have to adapted it to my playing style. its a must for any drummer who plays 3 hour gigs. All in all, very good
