Well, the key is faster than your run-of-the-mill key that came with your drum set, but not necessarily the one you will want when fine-tuning. Sometimes when your removing t-rods quickly, the thing will slip off the head of the t-rod. but useful to have if you're, say, replacing all the heads on your drums and want to save some time.

Opposed to previous reviews, this key is very useful for fine tuning, if used properly. Use the speed handle for removing and tightening lugs in seconds. Can it be used for fine tuning you ask? YES. If you hold the shaft of the key you can basically "torque" the lug till adjusted properly. For $6.50, this universal drum key is worth every penny, if you can use it correctly.

this thing has the most maximum amount of torque that i have ever seen in a speed key. its aerodynamic features are extraordinary. i highly recommend this neato little jobber deal.
