Single-ply feel with punch and low-end power for heavy-hitting drummers.

The exclusive 12-mil film of the G PLUS—combined with an improved EMAD damping system—delivers increased low-end, punch, and power. It is ideal for heavier hitters looking for a solid sound and more life to the head but who prefer the feel of a single-ply.

Comments about Evans GMAD Clear Batter Bass Drumhead:

I was looking for a dampenned head that wouldn't kill the tone of the drum. The GMAD was my final choice. I had spent a small fortune finding the right head for the tone and feel I was looking for.
I found it with the GMAD.

Mad about the GMAD, in a good way!

Comments about Evans GMAD Clear Batter Bass Drumhead:

I could tell the difference the moment I kicked my bass drum the first time after I put the head on the drum. I had a Remo PS3 on my Pearl Vision birch/basswood kick drum and it sounded good, or so I thought, but it seemed to lack depth no matter how low I tuned it and always had a slightly annoying overtone despite having it muffled correctly. No problems what so ever with the GMAD. The tray and the foam on the outside works well and has been improved upon compared to the EMAD. I use the smaller foam ring with a small block of foam inside the drum that doesn't touch either head unless I position it to. The sound of my kick drum has excellent attack, punch, thump and low-end and it feels and sounds especially good when I really dig into it. I can play multiple fast kick patterns on this head with no problem, the response and rebound from the head is very good and I can hear it when the rest of the band is playing loud, without having any monitor to help me hear it. I was concerned about the extra thickness but no problem with it, it projects very well without having to kick it hard. I'm very pleased with this drum head and will be buying another one for my less expensive Pearl Forum kick which should sound much better with this drum head on it as well. Great job, Evans! This is no gimmick, it is an excellent single ply drum head. I still recommend putting a falam pad or something similar on it to protect the head, even though it is very durable.
