Comments about Evans EMAD 2 Clear Batter Head:

This batter head along with a ported Evans resonant head gave my 20 inch bass drum the low end and punch that was lacking with the stock Gretsch heads.

Comments about Evans EMAD 2 Clear Batter Head:

Quality constructed, tone filled and fat. Holds it's pitch. I've been drumming for years. This is the best bass bater I've ever used. Evan's Emad2 feels great, sounds great. Remo's Powerstroke or Prosonic can't measure up to the EMAD2. I like to thank the sales staff at music 123. This bater has exceded your praise for it when you suggested it me.

          Yep...it's the bomb

Comments about Evans EMAD 2 Clear Batter Head:

I have used the Emad for all my bass drums since I first learned of it years ago. It vastly improves punch and focus of any drum. My kicks have been a 71' Ludwig 24x14" maple, '96 Pearl Masters 22x18" Maple, '00 Pearl Sessions 20x16", 2009 Gretsch 18x14" Catalina Jazz Natural. They have ALL benefited from this head.

If you like a full, natural drum tone, I recommend a Remo Fiberskyn resonant head with NO hole in it. If you play louder and prefer a hole for micing, the Powerstroke 3 is the one. At this time, I have the Fiberskyn on all my kicks, no hole. My best sounding drum for punchy pop and country is the Gretsch 18", hands down, but they all sound great for what they are.

There is no better beater than the Emad.

I have the this head for my batter and an evans emad black resonant head on a 22" bass drum, and its EXPLOSIVE it will make any kind of low end kit sound 5 to 10 times better. no joke, this head will make you sound pro.

Perfect for all types of music

Comments about Evans EMAD 2 Clear Batter Head:

Whether you need to play jazz or hook up your double pedals, this is the perfect drum head. With the ring inserts, i didnt even need internal dampening other than two t-shirts to cut overtones. I change rings on it and i can go from heavy blast beating to my jazz combo without any problems.

Outstanding Punch - Low End Presence

          By Wayne Dent

          from Baltimore, MD

Comments about Evans EMAD 2 Clear Batter Head:

Just played my first gig last night with my new EMAD 2 Clear Batter Head. Luckily, the room had great acoustics so the band sounded real good. Acoustics aside, with the EMAD 2, I got that low end presence we all want from our 22" Bass Drums but with a very clear, articulated PUNCH so that my bass drum was felt as well as heard. I've read from others that the ring which holds the muffling on the head will break eventually but one month in, I must say I do not have that complaint to register. Based on the time and my experience with this Evans Head, I would definitely sing its' praises.

Evans EMAD 2 Clear Bass Drum Head

          By Michael Bourg

          from Northern California

Comments about Evans EMAD 2 Clear Batter Head:

I have to say at this point that this is the best sounding bass drum head I have ever used either in a 20" or 22". I have received several compliments about the killer sound my bass drum has. My formula is the Evans EMAD 2 on the batter side and a Powerstroke 3 on the Resonant side. This seems to work well for me as I play Hard Rock and some Metal style music. I highly recomment this head and when Music 123 has an accessory sale, well that's even better.

EMAD 2 Clear bass drum batter head

          By Jim Kessler

          from Kansas City, MO

Comments about Evans EMAD 2 Clear Batter Head:

This IS the Holy Grail of Bass Drum batter heads. The difference is instantly audible between the typical single ply standard head that comes on a bass drum from the manufacturer and the EMAD 2. You pick the degree of dampening with the different ring inserts. I also topped off my EMAD 2 head with a pdp bass drum pillow and MAN what a difference!!! That bass drum of mine no longer "rings"... now it "SINGS" It thuds like a cannon, and I was happy to put that single ply head on the shelf forever!

makes my economy bass drum sound pro!

Comments about Evans EMAD 2 Clear Batter Head:

Got this head yesterday and it has already exceded my high expectations. i have a entry level set and the bass drum sounded horrible with the original head, even with a blanket inside. when i bought this i was expecting to still need to dampen the resonant head but after some precise tuning i got the perfect, low end sound i was looking for. i had my band come over and they loved it as well. if you're looking for a professional, low end sound on any quality of bass drum, buy this head.
