Evans brings EC (Edge Control) technology to resonant heads.
The EC Resonant tom head is the first bottom head to promote the natural tone and body of any tom by means of frequency "tweaking." The EC Resonant tom head is constructed from a single ply of 10 mil ultra-clear film augmented with the Evans EC ring. It attenuates unwanted overtones and centers pitch, while delivering a desirable mid-range frequency bump. It's the first head to have the capacity to control and correct the tuning inconsistencies of bottom heads, a long-standing roadblock to perfect tuning for many drummers. The result is a more resonant, fatter tom that projects a truer pitch, irrespective of volume levels.
Evans made a quantum leap with the EC Resonant. This head should stun drummers accustomed to attributing better tom sounds only to batter head selection. They'll be shocked to discover that their dream tom sound was laying in wait: the EC Resonant releases it.

the quality of the sound: seems a little bit better than my stock yamaha head 250, I say it kills 10% of overtones in comparison to my yamaha stock head. however, beware of the picture(s) they show on website, bc it is not what exactly what it is. basiccaly, the head has been painted with the green circle around its rim, it looks exacly like the ec2 sst batter head, except it has only 1 ply---->weird. It suppose to be the addhensive silver circle around trhe rim not the green painted circle. I have never seen any reso like this one. I looked up on evansdrumheads.com, they never got anything like this! Oh boy, is it a fake product? I doubt it.

i figured id give these heads a try and i am completely blown away. i used to think no matter how well you tuned the tom you had to put muffling on it to keep the ringing away, but not anymore. i put these heads on tuned them up and then tested the sound out. I will never need muffling again, even on my 16"x16" floor tom!

I was impressed with this head. It made a notable difference in the sound of my 12" tom. I was skeptical at first but the head works as advertised. The sound was more focused at both high and low tunings, with the "extra" overtones now gone. The head tunes easily, no problem getting a good, consistant tuning at each lug. A definite upgrade to consider for your toms
