My drums (4 toms and snare) are 6-ply maple with Remo Emperor batter heads and Ambassador resonance heads. They all HAD very sharp and pronounced overtones, or "rings"...until I purchased these Evans E-Rings. They now sound amazing. You won't believe the difference until you experience it directly. Buy this product! I only wish it was available in 8 inch size, too.

Two simple words: GET THESE. You can argue all day long with some of the die hards over whether putting these on your drums are sacrilegious, but I use em and I swear by em - although sometimes I do leave it off my snare when I want to hear all the overtones. Basically put, you can be as sloppy tuning a drum as you like... tune your tom to be as deep as you want...I mean go ahead and make that tom sound like a boxed piece of crap! Done? OK, now drop one of these rings on the head...et viola! No ringing...it just sounds like you're in a studio - dry and clean!
