These felts came with my recently purchased rack. These are extremely still and hard. They're very similar to hard foam. To tighten the wing nut all the way, so it doesn't turn while you play. This causes the cymbals to have very little freedom and to stay rigid. If you don't tighten the wing nut all the way, you risk it rotating while you play the cymbal and the cymbal falling off. My solution was to pull the top felt off the collar, and replace it with some Zildjian felts that are much softer and more flexible. These felts are very high quality and the sleeves are excellent. The felts are glued on with glue about as tough as Gorilla Glue. They're great felts, they just don't work as well with my style of drumming. Hope this was helpful!
