DW Stand, You Can Stand On

By David Murtough

from Warwick, RI

Comments about DW 9700 Straight/Boom Cymbal Stand:

If you looking for the most heavy duty of cymbal stands, that will take the abuse, here it is. I've been using the DW 9700 for about a year now and they're awesome. With almost limitless adjustment, I finally have a cymbal stand that hold sa cymbal perfectly level. That's the way I like 'em. The DW 9700 incorporates tilt adjustment with a black handle, which is easy to use and looks cool too, and locks in place with standard drum key. The actual cymbal seat also adjusts to allow for more or less play in the cymbal after it's hit. I have never seen anything like it before. The combination Straight/Boom is a clean design as well, so if you're using the 9700 as a straight stand or boom it works like a charm. Very heavy and rugged to take the road wear. One small challenge are the memory locks. It great to have them and be able to set up the stand perfectly each time, but it's very difficult to breakdown and travel compactly. You either have to remove all the locks and fold the stand up, or travel with 3 or 4 separate pieces for each stand and find some case to carry them. I wish DW had a solution for this. if anyone does, let me know. Great Product

Pull ups!

By Adam-whLcy

Comments about DW 9700 Straight/Boom Cymbal Stand:

This cymbal stand is a top of the line stand for a not-so-top-of-the-line price. If you are upgrading to new stands, don't even look or consider any other stand. Don't try this at home, but when I first took them out of the package, I extended it to its full height and adjusted the boom arm to a ninety degree angle, and well... I could do pull ups on it!!! Now, I am only 160 pounds, but that is still A LOT of strength. I could not ask for a better stand. Now, I own two. They are more than worth the money.

You could hang off of this thing

Comments about DW 9700 Straight/Boom Cymbal Stand:

A nearly indestructible stand. I never had a stand weigh more than 2-3 other stands combined. If you're looking for an extremely high quality stand that allows you to position your cymbals at any angle, you'd have to be out of your mind not to get this one.
