The latest advancment in drum pedal technology.

The DW 9002PC Double Pedal is just what you need for reaction and speed. To create incredibly smooth, gravity-defying action, the 9000's Floating Rotor is not permanently affixed on a conventional drive shaft but is mounted on a free-floating drive shaft using friction-reducing ball-bearings. In addition, the patented Rotor can be infinitely adjusted using the Infinite Torque Adjustment for a variety of positions from center (Turbo-style) to eccentric (Accelerator-style), achieving the desired balance of power and precision in any playing situation. Furthermore, by moving the location of the Floating Spring from the end of the hex shaft to the center of the pedal, the vertical alignment of the moving parts is maintained and the indirect transfer and loss of energy is virtually eliminated - further optimizing the pedal's speed and power and precision.

In addition to Delta ball-bearings at the rocker, hex shaft, and hinge, the 9000 also employs friction-reducing ball-bearings in the rotor and spring connector while incorporating several of the 5000 Series' most popular upgrades such as a stackable heel plate, dual/side adjusting hoop clamp, 101 2-way beater, built-in spurs, and lightweight aluminum pedal plates and linkages. Includes a custom-designed, injection-molded case with special compartments for pedals, beaters, and accessories.

...all of what your reading above is true, the 9000 is the smoothest pedal on the market but... maybe too smooth? No, of course you can't have a pedal thats too smooth. The 900 carries on with the same "tank"(y) feel of its baby brothers in the 5000 series and to a lesser extent (due to less weight) in the 4 and 7000 series. These are very smooth pedals indeed, but DW can't seem to shake that slow, plodding, heavy feel thats plagued them from the start. It's like driving a tractor, albeit a smooth tractor. Heavy is the keyword associated w/all dw metal parts, they think strength (good) but weight(is no good) and when teamed w/moving parts weight = less performance and this is whats wrong with their whole pedal line. Some cool adjustments here, but beater is still a piece of junk, drive shaft not as good as could/should be. DW needs to think light (single chain, lighten foot board, put the cam on a diet ect.) then they would be the pedal to beat. Sonor G step lighter/more-positive feel but pricey.

On the double!

By

from Bloomingdale, NJ

Comments about DW 9002PC Double Pedal:

I just recieved this pedal in the mail and I couldn't be more happy with it. I decided to upgrade from a Gibraltar Prowler to this pedal and the difference in feeling is amazing. This pedal has a real smooth feel to it and helps me on my down and return strokes. You can switch the setting from Accelerator to Turbo on this one. I don't believe this can be done on the other pedals they offer. Some of the cheaper pedals can also make you form bad habits that are hard to break. If you're looking for a double pedal that won't let you down than search no farther, this is the one! The case it came with is rediculously heavy duty too!

Tighten the screws

By

from Missouri

Comments about DW 9002PC Double Pedal:

I love it. It's smooth. I play hard and if you play hard and alot, make sure you tighten the screws that hold the hinge to the heel plate. I've got both the single and the double of these pedals. The screws came loose on both. The result is that the heel plate got stripped out. The holes on the hinge are bored out and the hinge wore a groove in the bottom plate. It looked and felt durable but only if you keep those screws tight otherwise after a show it could be destroyed like mine. Get an extended warrenty if it's available.

Different from the rest

By

from India

Comments about DW 9002PC Double Pedal:

I've been using TAMA and Pearl for the past years, but ever since I had the 9002 pedals, it felt like a world of differenced. At first, I found that it was a bit difficult to get used to it. I found that that it was a direct drive as compared to the previous pedals. But after a while and a couple of adjustments on the pedals, it was much smoother and uses less energy when you floor the pedals. It will be difficult to get use to the 9002, but once you get the hang of it. The other pedals (all the rest) are a piece of cake.Till today, my friends (drummers) still couldn't get use to my pedals but I'm like an all rounder drummer (any pedals are easy).Try it, get use to it and be a different drummer than the rest.

Wonderful!

Comments about DW 9002PC Double Pedal:

This double bass pedal has got to be by far the best one I have ever played on. I've played on many and this one is the best. The pedals are so light and easy to move. I also like the fact that both pedals are on chains. I believe DW has got it figured out. I wouldn't trade it for nothing.

HOOWEE

By

from Aledo, IL

Comments about DW 9002PC Double Pedal:

Got this pedal 2 years ago, and its still like new, just clean it up a little, its brand new again. I have tried many other pedals in my day, and none, absolutely none can come close. There is something about it, its so fast, but so easy. I couldn't play fast at all before I got this pedal, but now, 180-190 beats a minute doing 16th notes, such a good pedal.

You want an intelligent review??? - read on!

Comments about DW 9002PC Double Pedal:

I've been gigging in clubs and playing professionally since about 1983, and I have used all kinds of pedals - both single and double pedals. This one is by far superior in so many ways (they are too numerous - just check out the specs on it for more complete info.). If you think that this pedal will make you play better, you're wrong - improvement will come with hard work, discipline and practice, but this pedal will make playing incredibly easy. I have used my pedals on about 35 gigs so far and have heard zero squeaks or noises. The pedals are machined so incredibly well that I think if a Mac truck ran over it it would hold up. Anyways, you can't go wrong with the limitless adjustments possible on this pedal. Additionally, the action is smooth, effortless, and the degradation from the left foot to the right foot is virtually imperceptible. All the accolades being said, the only drawback I see is the molded plastic case. For a working musician like myself, I don't really want to have to take the beaters off and on EVERY TIME I GIG just to use the case... so I sold the case on eBay and use my old Pearl case (which is completely open inside) and I don't have to mess with the beaters. I know it seems silly, but in the course of hundreds of gigs in a year - the time I waste putting on and taking off the beaters adds up. All-in-all, if you have been waiting for THE double drum pedal heads and shoulders above all others, it is time to spend a little bit more and purchase this one. You can't go wrong, and heck - it looks cool too! Enjoy :)

Comments about DW 9002PC Double Pedal:

I got my DW a month ago, and it gets better and better every day! I was amazed by the speed, its lightness, its smoothness, and the looks of course. If you are used to a "not so good" pedal, then this will get a little problematic. Simply the best I've used!

Comments about DW 9002PC Double Pedal:

I have one word for ALL potential buyers of the 9000 double pedal...SMOOTH!!!!! I really don't know why people bother writing reviews for stuff this great because people aren't going to use them...they're going to go to their local music store and sit down at a display kit and go to work on DW's 9000 and are going to form their own opinions...which, all of them...(in the end) are the same...Its a terrific pedal (expensive)but a terrific pedal. To truly grasp the smoothness and response from this double pedal you're going to need to stop reading all of these reviews and go try it for yourself!!! I did and the results were mind boggling...Its a really wonderful product well worth $479.99. Let me just put it this way; if the pedal cost $679.99 I would still buy it...oh yeah its that good.
