great as resonant heads

Comments about Attack 1-Ply Medium Clear Drumhead:

Needed to replace super thin stock pearl resonant heads. These compare to Remo Ambassadors and are very affordable. Working excellent as resonant heads.

great heads

Comments about Attack 1-Ply Medium Clear Drumhead:

These are excellent heads and a good value. The glue-less steel locking hoop is based on a design that's been around since the late 70s. Its called a crimped head. The head film is durable and loud. I can't say these heads are necessarily better than Remo, Evans, or Aquarian, but they are certainly competitive. As for crimped vs epoxy heads, the idea of a glue-less head is a good one, although epoxy heads have been around for years and have been steadily improved. I personally have used epoxy heads for years and have never had any detuning or pull-out problems. I`ve seen only one epoxy head pull out and it was because the head was 20 years old and had seen some exposure to cold temps so the epoxy resin had degraded and turned cloudy. Under normal conditions where a head is replaced over a period of months this would never happen.

I got my snappy, thwack attack back!

Comments about Attack 1-Ply Medium Clear Drumhead:

Single ply medium snare batter head. Been using other brand thin head and it was just going dead, no more snap. I use this set to record with and prefer a "SNAPPY" snare sound. I replaced it with the medium clear single ply and I am impressed with the sound of this head. It holds and wears very well while playing. Very up to par with the other brands, if not equal or better. The head is on a metal snare. No "tone ring" on this head of course. Head is tuned very tight because I like a sharp, snappy, and crisp sounding snare. Bottom snare head is tuned just a bit lower than top. Slight ping sound, but the head is on a metal snare and I think the shell makes a bit of ring itself, although barely noticeable. When striking the snare head off center you get a very slight ping but with the damper, about four inches in from the side, just touching the bottom of the head, and striking directly in the center, it is the sound I like to hear. SNAP! Very quick and bright sounding. No ring. No ping.I have put the 2 ply medium heads on the rest of the set. Very good, balanced, overall sound with these heads. Been playing for 40 years and do recommend these heads.
