AMAZING!!!

By Roy Nuesca

Comments about Aquarian Hi-Energy Drumhead:

Was a little worried about it being clear and not coated but sounds amazing! Even better than coated ones!!! I have it on a 13x7 snare and it's amazingly poppy.

All I can say is.. wow!

By Chevy Bowtie

Comments about Aquarian Hi-Energy Drumhead:

I've used just about every head imaginable and this thing beats them all. It has an incredibly powerful attack, tuned low or high. Tighten this thing down and it'll give you a pop that makes you jump outta your skin. Highly recommended, especially for metal music.

Hi-Energy Indeed!

By N.F.

from Mandan, ND

Comments about Aquarian Hi-Energy Drumhead:

I initially tried to tune this head LOW on my new snare drum but it sounded like a cardboard box (not always a bad thing) and that was not was I was looking for. So I tuned it up a turn and a half to two and now it cracks like a daemon's whip! I love this head on my snare! I love the ring it produces out of the box. It's perfect for my drum and the way I like to play it (a little off center, especially for rimshots) but when I hit it in the center it almost sounds like a rimshot anyway. I have it on a Mapex 14 x 8 basswood snare drum and these two together sound amazing. No further muffling or messing around has been necessary. I'm very satisfied but I wish the usable tuning range were greater. Can't have everything, though, I guess.

Great head if you need good sound but with SeriouS muffling

By EMan

Comments about Aquarian Hi-Energy Drumhead:

I have been playing about 43 years. I've had probably at least 30 different snare drums in the last 4 years and tried a l-o-t of different heads on them. I took a coated Emperor off my 7" deep maple snare to use this. I still liked the sound but Remo's coating just doesn't hold-up anymore. This head does a great job of keeping sensitivity and some crack while doing some heavy-duty muffling. This would be a great head for recording, live in church or other venues when you want exceptional volume control or if you're live miked. It really sounds best when you play a lot harder than many venues would allow. The feel will also take some getting used to with the heavy coating and additional dot. OK at home but I'd probably use something else live and unmiked due to the lack of resonance/projection/cut-through.

nice head

By chris-wfamN

from duluth, mn

Comments about Aquarian Hi-Energy Drumhead:

Just recently made a switch from Evans to Aquarian and this was the snare head I decided upon, and I have absolutely no regrets. I put it on a Tama hand hammered aluminum snare (which was loud and cutting to begin with) and turned it into a deadly weapon. This head gives an incredibly loud, crisp, cutting sound and just gave the snare an even more lively sound; something I didn't think was possible. I've tried probably a dozen different snare heads in the last 2+ years, but will never use one other than the Aquarian High Energy head. Great product.

Nice Snare Head

By F-YdU-g

from Colorado

Comments about Aquarian Hi-Energy Drumhead:

I put this head on my 14" Tama SC Performer snare and what I got was a super dry and sensitive sound. Using my Tama tension watch I set it to 80 and the resonator to 75. It feels like the wood just shimmers with this head. Feels like your sucking on the wood itself with your mouth, you can just taste the sound. This Tama snare sounds EXACTLY like the old DW snares, that dry focused, yet high projection sound that sounds great live - like that old Pearl Jam snare sound. This head will last a good year, most likely a lot longer. Nothing will hurt it. Very impressed - this is replacing a long line of Evans and Remo heads.

It's good. I've tried pinstripes and emperors and this head sounds a lot better and lasts even longer. It makes my snare come to life and sound much better.

finally broke

By steve-wL2Gz

from new jersey

Comments about Aquarian Hi-Energy Drumhead:

I bought this head in 12" last summer and played hard every day in a grindcore/metal band and it got a rip after tuning it too tight and hitting it too hard like 2 months ago. Even with the 2 inch long rip it played and sounded like new. If you play with the force of a striking hammer and want the durability of beating on a solid steel I beam, then get this snare head.
