Replaced an aging Remo head with this to match a batter installed a year ago. Big improvement in overall sound to my ears, though I'm a total amateur. Can't judge long-term wear but one my my friends-- a 30 year player --said my kick sounded better than any he'd played. Of course, one thing I do know how to do is tune my drums. Note: I did not port this head and am happy with the sound as is.

Thanks for making the mike portal an option. I choose not to use it. I was looking for a solid black resonant head with good response. Not that many choices available. I am very pleased with this head!! Not only a great look, but better tone and response than I was expecting. Thanks again.

The Force II Resonant head has just the right amount of tone control for a kick drum. It lets the drum sing but also controls the unwanted high ring and allows for a nice round kick drum sound. I tried the Regulator but this one has a superior tone when I compared them "A" - "B" on the same Sonor kick drum. This makes a great companion to the Super Kick I and the Force I batter. I was a big Evans user for several years but I have gravitated to Aquarian recently. I still believe Evans makes fantastic heads, but the Aquarians have a bit more warmth and depth to them while also having a nice tone, good sensitivity and durability.
