Pure aggression with amazing articulation and a wide dynamic range.
Voiced for raw aggression, the Rivera Metal Shaman distortion pedal provides a more overdriven range of textures than its two siblings, the Double Shaman and the Blues Shaman.
Along with controls for Bass, Mid, High, and Gain, the Metal Shaman features a Brutality switch for widening the bottom end and creating a bigger aural picture. The Disintegrate footswitch allows an extra jolt of killer gain boost with expanded harmonics, and the Level control sets the overall output.
A switch-bypassable noise gate with controls for Sensitivity and Release tames noise that can accompany the Metal Shaman's bare-knuckled amounts of overdrive and distortion.
- Wide range of distorted and overdriven tones
- Bass, Mid, High, and Gain controls
- Brutality switch widens the bottom end
- Bypassable noise gate with Sensitivity and Release controls

Comments about Rivera Metal Shaman Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:
I have been playing for over 30 years and have been trying to find a distortion pedal that can do metal really well with thick clear leads, killer harmonics and super heavy riffing with solid tight low end while retaining clarity and ability to hear each individual note when striking chords. Basically like really good tube amp distortion because I've always owned tube amps that could either do awesome cleans and rock gain but not metal, ( at least not with a tight low end) or they do great metal and rock gain, but the clean sucks and breaks up or has no sparkle or depth. So since there's no such thing as a clean pedal, I go with the amp that has awesome cleans and middle ground gain and try for the heavy gain out of a pedal. I've had every mainstream company pedal, (Boss, DOD, Digitech, Vox, ETC) every boutique pedal (EMMA, Suhr, Metal Pedals, ETC) and Modded (Keeley) and they all either sounded too buzzy, too grainy, too noisy, low sustain, not enough harmonics, always some drawback. This is the first really thick heavy gain pedal I've had that I can't find anything negative about at all. Awesome for lead, killer chug riffing with THE tightest biggest low end you could ever imagine. Great sustain, harmonics all over the place, if you sustain a note, it will break up into feedback just like when you stand facing a good tube amp. And it has an excellent adjustable noise gate built in that works flawlessly. Only catch is Rivera has shown me three times now (I'm a glutton for punishment) that if anything goes wrong with their gear (which honestly it rarely does) you are on your own and they are some of rudest, laziest people I have had the aggravation of dealing with. But as long as it stays healthy, you've got the best metal pedal ever made and anyone that doesnt have it won't sound anywhere near as solid as you. If you can play guitar anyway. It does not make sucky players sound better. Much like good tube distortion, it will probably make sloppy players actually sound worse as it really wont cover up bad notes, it totally clears them up and puts it all out front.
