The Shure choice for critical studio recording and live production.

The Shure KSM32/SL Condenser Mic has extended frequency response for incredibly natural sound. A transformerless preamp eliminates crossover distortion and improves linearity. The gold-layered, high-compliance diaphragm improves low frequency and transient response. 15dB attenuation switch handles high SPLs, the switchable low-frequency filter reduces background noise. The 3-stage pop-protection grille reduces breath noises, and internal shock mount reduces handling noise. Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz. Includes locking aluminum carrying case, ShureLock elastic-suspension shockmount, ShureLock swivelmount, and padded bag.
Requires phantom power.

Channel Strips of the Stars: Ronan Chris Murphy

World-class producer/engineer/mixer Ronan Chris Murphy's credits include King Crimson, Steve Morse, Terry Bozzio, Victor Bisetti, Gregg Bissonette, Tony Levin, and projects with members of Tool, Ministry, Weezer, Dishwalla, and Yes. Ronan was kind enough to share some of his drum-recording signal chains:

"Well all of the drums for Terry Bozzio's Jazz trio were recorded with all A Designs Audio solid state preamps. For drum overheads I used Shure KSM32 condenser mics into an A Designs Audio Pacifica (#189903) to a Manley Variable Mu Limiter Compressor (#620908); for kick drums, AKG D112s (#271161) into A designs Pacificas. (I prefer the Shure Beta 52 (#270267) for kick but they were pre-mounted inside Terry's (Bozzio) kick drums. Actually I have used the Shure KSM32 into Pacifica combo on tons of great drummers, including Terry Bozzio Victor Bisetti (Los Lobos), Gregg Bissonette (Santana, David Lee Roth), and Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Mister Mister, The Rembrandts)."

Amazing mic for a great price, Can't beat shure!

Comments about Shure KSM32/SL Condenser Mic:

Look out recording fanatics. This microphone is crystal clear with amazing tone! When used with a great pre amp you can hear every part of your voice. The shock mount is solid as a rock. Its durability is excellent. If your looking for a microphone that is great for the home and studio this is the one to get. Being able to hear your voice so well can help you learn how to sing. The tube sound is warm and with the phantom power it sounds crystal clear. This microphone is a must have for your collection. Im extremely satisfied with it. I love the case it comes with. It looks extremely flashy and professional. Also come with a little bag to put the microphone in when not in use. It makes me feel professional when I use the case. Im so excited I purchased this microphone. If you do not want to spend thousands of dollars on a Neumann U 87 then this would be a great microphone to pick up. This one is great to have around plus cant beat the price!

Outstanding tone and quality

Comments about Shure KSM32/SL Condenser Mic:

When I was first looking around for a great recording microphone that wasn't an outrageous price I looked at many but none had as good as reviews as this mic. From the first time I opened the box and took it out to now this mic has done nothing but sound amazing. I have had no problems what so ever with it and the sound quality is outstanding. I can get professionally engineered sound out of my house just because of the ability for this microphone to pick up ever word I say cleanly and make sure there is no distortion or fuzz. I highly recommend this microphone to anyone who is looking to upgrade to a better microphone. It's worth ever penny.

Comments about Shure KSM32/SL Condenser Mic:

I am in highschool and work for my band director who records bands and choirs. We have a set of these and they are awesome. We use two of them in front of a whole Symphonic band and they pick up ever single instrument. Very good mic.
