Comments about Nady SCM 900 Condenser Mic:
I bought a pair of these mics to use in my portable studio. I also have a selection of other mics (MXL, Shure, AKG & ElectroVoice). I normally use them for backing vocals since they have a nice warm tone without the strident top end present on some condensers. I've also used them to mike the body of acoustic guitar for the same reasons then balanced it with a small diaphram condenser for the lower neck. However, recently I had to mike an alto sax and I tried all the mikes in my case that I thought would give good results and the SCM 900 gave the richest, most balanced sound out of all of them. I later used the mike on a live gig at a club where the sound man there had quite a few reservations about using a condenser mic on stage due to their sensitivity, but after hearing the SCM 900 he raved about the clean full sound and since this mic has a somewhat reduced high end freq. response (16,000 K) feedback problems were practically eliminated. If you are selective about what you use this mic for, it's a great mic for the price.
