I have found these mallets to be great. They are light, but heavy enough to get a good sound. They look great, and feel great. I used to use the Multi-Application series exclusively, and these complement them well. They are the same length and shaft diameter. The only thing I would improve with these mallets is durability. I have only had them for about a week, and they look brand new. I am just worried that over time the yarn will fray and look bad. When preforming, that is a big deal. I don't however, feel that it will affect the quality of sound on the Marimba. These mallets work well across the entire range of the instrument maintaning the warm qualities with a bit of artuculation.
