Good for keeping the volume down

By DrumrPete

Pros

  • Light well balanced fat

Cons

  • Break easily if beaten

Best Uses

  • Keeping quiet

Comments about Vic Firth American Custom Echo Drumsticks:

Fat handles, but slim shank and tip. Great for those who want to get their volume down, but find it difficult to hit softly. Even good for those who CAN hit softly, but still want better control. The only problem is, once you get used to these, it's hard to go back to bigger sticks when you want to get loud. Big sticks just seem to slow you down.

Work as described

Comments about Vic Firth American Custom Echo Drumsticks:

I use these sticks when control is required more than loudness or sustain. There is less rebound than usual, so they are also handy for developing control and wrist stroke speed.

Wonderful balance for a light touch.

Comments about Vic Firth American Custom Echo Drumsticks:

This drumstick feels strange at first, but once you've touched it to a hard surface you'll fall in love with it. It's balanced such that it bounces back very well with even the lightest touch. For quiet playing, this stick gives you more control. (But, be careful... With heavy playing, they break easily.)

Good for more than Orchestral Snare pieces!

Comments about Vic Firth American Custom Echo Drumsticks:

These sticks say that they are good for playing lightly in quiet passages. I play both orchestral snare and modern drum set music. I found that these sticks play really well on ride and other cymbals. They give a precise defined stick sound, good for getting rid of unwanted wash. Other than that they're a decent pair of snare sticks. They take a little getting used to especially for rolls, but in they end they do what they're advertised plus a little extra.
