This drum is as good as Balck Swamp with similar features. It's very sensitive and the timbre can be adjusted to almost any type of sound, including drum set. And, for the price, it's an outright bargain. I thought I would hate the yellow starburst color, but it is not so bad when seeing it live. Now ships with power hoops and a Renaissance top head, making it a great deal. External muffler is an issue, but there seems to be no product that fits these hoops right now.

This drum is amazing! I'm a band director in a high school where the budget is smaller than I'd like. We need our equipment to last a long time. Recently, our old concert snare finally had seen it's last day. I purchased this drum and was amazed at the versatility. It made everything sound great. I even put on our Yamaha Maple Jazz set and it enhanced that too! With the triple throw off this drum is unbelievable

This snare, looks and sounds great. Everybody should have a snare that sounds this good as one of there snare drums. It just adds that extra kick in your drum playing. With the color drum set I have, it just adds the icing on the cake.

One of my best snares for Orchestral use. The triple throw off works excellent and offers various sounds for different applications. Really a good buy.

This snare is by far the best sounding drum I have played in a long time. The wooden shell gives a nice warm sound while the triple strainer give me so much control over the attack of the drum. One downside is the lack of a internal muffling system. This drum projects a very harsh ringing overtone. The only option is to crank the top head or buy topside muffling hardware. All-in all this is the best drum I have ever played on and would recommend it for every high school and college level orchestra.

This drum is one very versatile instrument. The sensitivity, volume, clarity and ease of use make this a winner. This drum can emulate any wood drum sound out there, and even a few metallic shell ones too. If you have the bucks, this is the one to get !!!

This is the best snare drum I have ever used. I love the depth of it (6.5 inches) which gives it a rich full-bodied sound. The triple throw-off is really cool because it enables you to put different wires on it and use them or put them down. In short, this is a great drum!
