These folders are invaluable. I play in a group that plays from pianos scores which might be 4-6 pages long. This folder supports the music and also provides a screen so that light does not filter from the back of the page. Where the bottom of the folder bends to sit on the music stand, it provides a deeper, more stable ledge than most music stands. This gives me a place to put my cleaning equipment, pencils etc, In fact, since I switch quickly from flute to piccolo and back, I use this as a place to put my piccolo when I'm not using it rather than using an instrument stand. It is much quicker. I wouldn't do this without the folder since the folder is plastic and protects my piccolo from being scratched by the metal music stand.

Stands are at a premium in my college. As both a jazz and percussion keyboardist (piano and percussion keyboards) I frequently found myself running out of stand room, and that was with two stands. This wonderful tool allows me to use only one stand and, when necessary, to extend two stands into three wide for even more room! This is an invaluable help. Definitely worth the small investment. The card pocket allows me to put my name of the folder so it doesn't get "lost" as easily, and it easily transfers from one gig bag to the other. I highly recommend it.
