You've reached the apex when you
choose the Xeno!

The Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet is renowned for its exceptional value and outstanding performance. The Bb Xeno trumpet offers musicians highly responsive action and satin-smooth playing.

Yamaha musical instruments are justly famous for their attention to detail, and the Xeno trumpet is no exception. With an ample .459" bore, the Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno trumpet offers performers low resistance for satisfyingly free blowing. Both the hand-hammered bell and drawn mouthpipe are fashioned in one piece for durability and outstanding tone.

The Xeno is a substantial trumpet with a heavy mouthpiece receiver, 2-piece valve casings, a first valve slide thumb hook, and double main tuning slide braces”just a few of the amenities usually found on more expensive instruments. Maintenance of your Xeno trumpet will be minimal as evidenced by the use of extremely durable Monel alloy for the hand-lapped pistons and slides.

Yamaha Xeno trumpets have earned their place in the world's most prestigious symphonies and among top-level concert band and jazz performers. Yamaha's flagship professional trumpets are heavyweight instruments, made with a metal that has been specially treated to deliver more power, better control, and a richer sound.

The mouthpiece receiver length on the YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet has been upgraded for improved response. All tubing is pressure-formed for perfect roundness that results in smoother air flow and more precise tone. With an annealed 4-7/8" bell, and a gold-brass mouthpiece, the Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet is highly responsive with a dark tone that won't break up with volume.

Yamaha delivers each YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet in its own sturdy case. Like every Yamaha wind instrument, the Xeno Professional Trumpet is covered by a limited 5-year warranty.

Silver-plated finish.

Purchased Used, looks like new

By

from Merritt Island, FL

Comments about Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet:

I purchased this for my son who has been playing trumpet for four years. He currently is in marching, symphonic, and Jazz bands, and will be starting with the Orchestra this year as well. It was a real stretch to afford the Yamaha Xeno, which was recommended by several other band members as well as a trumpet teacher, so I decided to buy used. When I received the trumpet (condition 2) it appeared to be in new condition...neither I nor my son could detect any cosmetic blemishes which we were expecting. Valve action was clearly superior to the trumpets my son had been playing. We are very pleased with the Xeno so far and think it will be a trumpet my son can grow with for many years.

BEST HORN FOR EVERYTHING!

By

from Reading,MA

Comments about Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet:

A lot of comments on this horn so there's not much left to say but I guess I'll just do my own review. I decided to get a new horn for myself after last summer and chose this one out of the thousands of horns available. When I first ordered it I didn't expect anything amazing but the shipping was really good. I got it in about 5 days which is the usual time I receive shippings. The horn for one, does not have the purple glare on it like the picture BUT it's still a really good looking horn. Shiny, Silver, and Clean. When i first tried it out it sounded great but of course different from the school yamaha horn I was using. This horn has such a bright and clean sound and the notes come out easy. The valves are great and smooth and the slides are SO great in fact that once the horn is warmed up it's hard to keep them from sliding around if you move around. This horn is heavier than usual horns so don't get any ideas about marching with it. It's expensive too. The 16C4 that comes with the trumpet is great. Takes some getting used to but it is about the equivalent of a Bach 1-1 and a half C. It's not too big a problem and I love it now. It's an expensive mouthpiece and one of the best. The case is pretty sturdy and nice looking too. I keep my Dynasty and Xeno in the case because it is actually a double trumpet case. Basically, if you're in high school and looking for a NICE horn, Bach quality, buy this one. It's amazing and your friends will envy you. I practice on it on a daily basis. It is everything you could want. Hope my review helped some people in terms of sound, weight, and mouthpiece, Peace Out.

Great Overall Horn

By

from Allison Park, PA

Comments about Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet:

I've had this horn for about a year (upgraded from the Bach TR200) and I've got to say this has been one of the most rewarding musical experiences I have ever had. I've played this horn in wind ensembles, big band jazz, and small group jazz, and every time it comes through for me and allows for me to play with consistent tone and good endurance. My only complaint would be that occasionally it gets kind of stuffy and you really need to blow to open up the sound. But that can be fixed by a simple leadpipe and tuning slide change.

Amazing sound and feel

By

from Minnesota

Comments about Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet:

So, you're never supposed to blame the equipment, just the player when it comes to just about anything, but once I put this horn to my chops I couldn't believe how much easier it was to play! I have had so many people tell me how rich my tone has become, it's great! The horn sounds great when I use it for classical and church and it really screams (beautifully, of course) when I use it for jazz or the pep band. It is a very flexible horn that works well in any setting. The mouthpiece that came with it feels fabulous and sounds great (I think it is similar to a 1C or so).And man, what a BEAUTIFUL horn! I went with the shotblast silver finish (I got the last one in stock) and it is just goregous! I found that the finish adds just a touch of darkness to the tone, and going with a lacquer would have been too dark for my main instrument (I do hope to get one in C...?).Anyway, believe all the reviews, it sounds amazing, plays amazing, and looks truly amazing. Get one if you find it!

Great trumpet!!

By

from Madrid, Spain

Comments about Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet:

It's one of the best trumpets I ever played. I had a great Bach Stradivarius 43ML Star since 1992, but when I played the Yamaha YTR8335RGS... How!! I bought one in two minutes.

Great Horn!

By

from The Netherlands

Comments about Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet:

I especially like the versatility of this horn. Used in some classical performances, but when you really get the air going, this is a great lead-trumpet! Since year one I have used it as a lead trumpet player in the big band and the projection was superb. My only recommendation would be to add 1 or 2 heavy lead caps at the 1st and 2nd valve. I added these to be able to get an even better slotting in the high range.Regards,Marcel

great product.

Comments about Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet:

This is a great trumpet. The intonation is great and it had a dark sound. I play better in tune and have a better sound with the xeno. The only problem is the mouthpiece, which has a deep cup and is pretty wide. Great for symphonic and jazz.

Great Horn!!!!

By

from Hedgesville, WV

Comments about Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet:

I played this once, and it really caught my attention. It was a little stuffy feeling, and takes some more air, but it give me good clarity and tone. I wish I could have gotten the finish in Shotblast Silver, though, and I want to buy a rounder slide for this trumpet.

Awesome Professional Horn

By

from Allison Park, PA

Comments about Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet:

Although this was my first personal encounter with a pro trumpet (I've had the TR200 until now), I have found this trumpet to be brighter in he upper range, with superior tone. I also use a special mouthpiece that I got designed to fit my embouchure, and it seems to work perfectly with this trumpet. Since the mouthpiece is slightly heavier and bored out than a standard mouthpiece it produces a rich tone throughout all ranges. The trumpet's response and ease of play is extraordinary. I would suggest this trumpet to all those looking for a great professional horn.

WOW!

By

from Michigan

Comments about Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet:

I've been playing a Xeno for a little over 2 years. It is a great horn! Having moved from a Bach Mercedes (intermediate horn) I was going to stay in the family (and get a strat) but I tried out 1 Xeno against 3 different strat models and the Xeno out played, and out ranged the Strats hands down. This horn works for everything! I blends well with other instruments, has great flexibility and range, as well as control. The Xeno is the new standard for horns, and I strongly feel that it will keep raising the standard for years to come.
