Good doubler

Comments about Yamaha YSL-354V Series Valve Trombone:

I use the 354V as a doubler on a Blues Band in Pittsburgh. It's got good feel and balance. Intonation is really very good for a valve bone. Maintenance is low with the rose lead pipe and plated valves. As a professional repairman, I find this horn to be well built. Great lacquer. This is the best valve bone I've played yet. I've seen this horn many times on stage.

This is an Okey dokey trombee

Comments about Yamaha YSL-354V Series Valve Trombone:

I am a 20 year trombone playa. I own personally around 30 trombones/ other barss instruments. I have to say that this on if I were to make a list from best to worst woud be in the middle. Its noises are ok but tone quality usually sucks. I love the trombone but not this one.

As a student horn, really good

By Michael Dennis

from Brandon, Manitoba, Canada

Comments about Yamaha YSL-354V Series Valve Trombone:

I was doing a favour for my high school band teacher so I walked over to the Yamaha dealer and tried it. Tuning: surprisingly good valves: good (for now) tone: bright, trombonelike, unlike the valve trombone sound design: good effective, very few bends for a student: good for a pro: nih! I don't trust the valves, the bore is small, brighter than a regular valve trombone sound. Of course the lack of tuning devices, (triggers, finger hooks) but only Bach is actually doing that right now anyway. So as a pro horn, no.
