I am in the United States Army Band and our unit recently ordered 6 of these horns. As I was issued my I rolled my eues recalling my bad experiences with cornets (I haven't much cared for them) I decided to give it a chance and pulled it out of the case, what can I say besides wow. The intonation is OUTSTANDING. I have never heard a cornet played so beautify as I have heard this horn. It slots well throughout all registers and never gets "stuffy" Constantly afree blowing horn . Well worth the money and time to try it out.

Theres nothing wrong with this instrument, but for a bit more money (300$) you should choose the YCR 6335 HS from the same builder: both instruments are fantastically built and have a lovely sweet sound, but the 6335 is more special in every respect. I would say: 6330 for the advanced tutti player, 6335 for a solo player. Intonation might be a bit better with the 633 the sound has more caracter with the 6335. It is all a matter of taste, you should try and compare them! I rate this one 4 stars, because of its 5-star brother for nearly the same price.

The 6330s is a fine short model cornet with excellent intonation and very true cornet sound when using a Yamaha 11E4 short shank mouthpiece. I personally prefer the Denis Wick 4B to get just the sound I want. Valves, slides and finish are all perfect on my horn. The blow is much easier than the 2330II and the sound is a touch brighter too. If you're looking for a great all around cornet do yourself a favor and try one of these.

Easy to play. Sounds like a cornet if you use the 11E4 mouthpiece. Very responsive and true.
