Comments about Yamaha Trombone Mouthpiece Gold-Plated Rim and Cup (Large Shank):

I have played this mouthpiece since I was in 9th grade and I still play on it today, 6 years later. I find this mouthpiece 100% amazing and I HIGHLY recommend to all!

The 48 is good for the upper register but not for lower one.

Comments about Yamaha Trombone Mouthpiece Gold-Plated Rim and Cup (Large Shank):

When I bought my Yamaha horn, the 48 came with gold plate. I found it to be a superb mouthpiece for high range but due to the very small back bore there is a great deal of back pressure. This was really not to my liking. My low range was not supported. One advantage of the gold plated rim I liked, was that I had the ability to do lip-slurs more easily than I can on silver, but without the loss of the deeper sound from playing on the silver version. Overall, it is a good mouthpiece but not a superb one.

Great Mouthpiece!!

By CJ-JIPXS

Comments about Yamaha Trombone Mouthpiece Gold-Plated Rim and Cup (Large Shank):

I have a 51C4 gold-plated series mouthpiece and I think it is a great mouthpiece for anything. It has only one limitation. It has a fairly weak lower register beyond pedal Bb. All in all, if you want a good mouthpiece, go for the gold-plated 51C4 by Yamaha!
