Not so great
Comments about Yamaha French Horn Mouthpiece Gold-Plated Rim and Cup:
I recently bought a Yamaha 30 GP, and I'm not very happy with it. Sure, it makes high notes much easier, you can play quite flexibly, and I can play loud on it, but the tone sounds very tinny and almost whiney. In my opinion, tone should be the first priority when selecting a mouthpiece, as range and accuracy can come with a small amount of practice, while tone can take years to make great. Also, the rim feels quite rounded to me, and my endurance isn't as long on this as my other mouthpieces.

About the Yamaha GP - 30
Comments about Yamaha French Horn Mouthpiece Gold-Plated Rim and Cup:
Aside from this being one of the most beautiful pieces in my possession...Quite frankly this is the best french horn mouthpiece that I have ever played on. The command and response is utterly superior (because of the double cup U & V). The large cup diameter and throat provide for a great tone and volume control, the over all presence of the mouthpiece in any band or symphony will provider for a clean crisp tone. Best of all it is worth every cent of what I paid, the double cup facilitates the high and low notes to the "T" any professional or advanced player would really want to try this out!!!
