A great outdoor mouthpiece

By Nate-QsyTe

Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:

At first I thought "when will I use this?" Because it definitely is not a jazz or orchestra mouthpiece. Then I realized that anything outside is the perfect opportunity to use this mouthpiece. When you play in cold weather, a metal mouthpieces freezes up and is hard to get notes out of. This mouthpiece never gets too cold or too warm, and has great intonation for plastic. Emphasis on "outdoor mouthpiece". I recently went caroling with my trombone, and the other brass players were complaining about how cold their mouthpieces were. I had my Kelly, so it felt fine, and I sounded great! Nice low price for a good quality mouthpiece. The selection of colors is an added bonus also. Anyone who plays at all outside needs one of these!

This is a great buy!

Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:

I think this mouthpiece is a very good buy. it is cheap but well made, and it sounds ten times better than a regular mouthpiece when I play. Also, my lips don't get tired as quick. So I play better and longer.

fun and useful

Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:

This is a great product. It never gets hot or cold plus it wont dent your instrument if you drop it because it weighs so little compared to metal mouth pieces. A great buy at only $20.00.

Kelly mouthpieces are a nice deal

Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:

I just bought a Kelly the other day and haven't played on it much, but I bought it for fun and because I figured a cheap unbreakable mouthpiece would be great for practice and it really doesn't get hot or cold as do brass mouthpieces. But the second I put it on my horn I was amazed at tone quality. Maybe it's not good enough for all the professionals or orchestras, but I don't see why everyone couldn't have at least one. I think they are the best thing to happen for marching bands and pep bands ever. Anywhere from 90 degrees to 15 degrees they are comfortable and light. If they drop they don't break and if they hit your horn, they don't dent it. Also a great thought for young students, allows them to try different sizes at a lower price and makes mandatory practice more fun. Not available in many sizes though, but so far that's the biggest downfall I could find. A great deal for the money.

very nice

Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:

I love this mouthpiece but it does have some problems. It is worth $20 bucks though. This mouthpiece tends to produce extremely bright or flat tones when I march with my Bach in ff and much more in fff. It's nice for indoor gigs and solos but does give an occasional flat spot when "heated" in a long song. It is also nice for cold concerts where it tends to work best. It brings out the high and low notes well in my Bach compared to a brass 12c and 6.5 al. I can go as low as my Conn bass with it.

Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:

These mouthpieces are a revolution in brass accessories. The clear one is great for checking embouchure and the others are great for gigs. Every brass player should have at least one.

other uses

By Michael Dennis-JDT0L

Comments about Kelly Mouthpieces Trombone Mouthpiece:

I play on a Reynolds Contempora goldbrass valve trombone. I bought one of the mouthpieces and I have no regrets. Clear 12c. It brightened up my tone so my valve bone actually sounded more like a a trombone instead of a baritone, the pitches were better in tune, and it projected better than my Bach 6.5al. Admittedly it wasn't as easy to slur between partials and but overall it does exactly what I wanted it to.
