Really cuts the volume. Plays well enough in tune in lower registers, seems flat in the higher ones. Stuffy. I may experiment with adding a few more relief holes as it only has one. Rubber grips the bell nicely, much better than cork. A good enough practice mute, but over-priced for what ya get.

This mute is great for keeping quiet, but even better because you can practice full out, without having to really compromise anything important. This has helped me and other friends that want to practice without getting on anyones nerves...

very quiet, told other players about it, let them try it and they were sold on it also. Thought it would buzz but not at all. May get one for the bone also. Great product! Solid construction, excellent value. Any for flugelhorn?

This is a great mute for practice. It is extremely quiet, but doesn't change the feel or amount of air you have to put through the horn to a harmful degree. Cork and design of the mute are also very easy on the bell and finish of the horn. This is a great type of practice mute for all my horns.

I've never heard a mute sound this good. All my friends' mutes are not even close to what kind of tone this mute gives. It is nice because it is also very quiet. Sometimes I just need the quietness.
