This mute is great ! Full even tone, with good intonation throughout the range of the instrument. Although it's pricey, I'm glad I made the purchase to replace my old Harmon Mute. Next, I will trade up to the Jo Ral straight mute to continue improving my mute options.

I auditioned several mutes before buying this one. The Jo-Ral sound blew away all the rest. I always play it with the plunger removed, and it creates the kind of super cool jazz sound. Fabulous product. The weight is probably what gives it the great sound, but it can be a real workout holding it up all night. Overall rating - superior to all others.

This is without a doubt, the best mute on the market. It has more dents than one could possibly imagine and it still has one of the best Harmon sounds you can get. The resonance is so outstanding! Get the mute and you shall see what I mean, don't even look at another, they aren't worthy!

This is one great sounding mute. If you like that distant buzz that you hear players like Miles Davis, Chris Botti, and Greg Adams produce, then this mute will get you that sound. It is accurate in the low and high register and very smooth in its delivery. Watch out! it will spoil you!

This is the best harmon which money can buy. It has a full buzz from low f# to beyond high c, d, e, you get the picture. More buzz than any other harmon I have ever encountered. Very in tune, and very even sound throughout entire register. Perfect and (as far as I am concerned) necessary for any trumpet player. Buy it, you will be glad you did from the very first note.
