Comments about Humes & Berg 164 Trombone Trixie Plunger Mute:
The color scheme is a little wacky but the plunger itself is fantastic. The rubber is more flexible than the typical hardware store plunger. The loop on the end is what sold me at first. It makes life a lot easier when you have to hold onto it while you're playing and not using it at that particular moment. The loop and flexibility of the rubber also helps when you have only a nano second to grab the plunger. It's a little deeper than your typical plunger helping the sound quality quite a bit. It doesn't have as stuffy or muffled of a sound. I've been playing for over 30 years and will never go back to the toilet bowl variety.
