this mute is great. it offers versitilaty and is great for traveling. i like the tone of the straight and cup mute. idont really use the plunger all that much

I bought this mute because I needed a cup, straight, and plunger mute. I didn't have a lot of money to spend. It is a great value; I prefer the straight to be more defined, the cup to be slightly more mellow, and the plunger is just right. It is a very usable mute with great tones.

I purchased this mute at the beginning of the summer of '05 to use in Celebration Iowa. At first I thought that it'd be a lot easier having that one mute that could be used as 3. The rehearsal camp before tour was 3 weeks long. After only 1 1/2 weeks...I wanted my original mutes back. This mute was just awkward to put together and to pull out of the horn. I didn't like the tone of the straight when compared to my Thomas Crown. The idea of a Triple Play mute is great...but the actuality of it didn't fit with me.

This is a great combo mute. you won't find much better out there. my mute holds great even when I tip my horn and try to shake it to fall out it stays intact. the sound is great no worse then the Stonelined mutes that are very common. although one thing that I did with my mute is a switched it excessively when I first got it and in doing that the connection of the straight and the plunger mute isn't what it used to be but it still won't fall out. the same with twisting the mute into place will loosen the hold. so if this mute is properly taken care of it is great for the student musician who needs a set or mutes for jazz band or whichever band you play in. outstanding mutes

I used this mute for a concert once. It has a great sound. It is convenient that it is 3 mutes for 30 dollars, but it does have some drawbacks. It is hard to assemble and get it to stay. The cork fell off of mine. This was fixed with some glue. If you can get passed these things then it is a great mute for the price.

I recently bought this mute for college and it's pretty good. The only bad thing I noticed about the mute is within a week the corks started coming off. But that was fixed later with some very strong glue. Otherwise the mute was great.

This is a nice economical 3 in 1 mute made by Harmon. Basically the cup fits onto the straight mute to form a cup mute, the fitting doesn't snap into place, it just seems to be held there by fit. It works though and doesn't fall out even when I tried shaking it. As a straight it's ok. The cup not as good as a H&B. The plunger section is on a par with the Glen Miller Tuxedo plunger I have. For the price I would give this a ten, however I'm probably going to look around for a separate cup mute.

I think that this mute is very dependable and in my jazz group, I was told how much better I could use the mute then the Stonelined cup mute I had before.

This mute is very light weight and versatile. Unfortunately, the one I received did not fit together very well. It was difficult to assemble in alignment. It also fell out of the instrument during a performance. I would recommend separate straight, cup and plunger mutes for anyone other than a beginning student.
