Exceptionally free blowing with excellent intonation, the Classic will serve working musicians and serious amateurs in a variety of musical contexts.

Great Instrument

By AMB

from NJ

Comments about Getzen 900S Eterna Classic Series Bb Trumpet:

This trumpet is probably the best overall out there. The low price, the AMAZING valves, and everything else. The case it comes with is very nice, but my only complaint is that the case is heavy. That is a sacrafice worth making for such a great instrument.

Eterna trumpets are without a doubt the most personal...

By Paul Parsons

from Seattle

Comments about Getzen 900S Eterna Classic Series Bb Trumpet:

From the gleaming silver bell to it's characteristic leadpipe you will know you are playing something special. I have owned an Eterna Severinsen Model since 1973. It is still playing and looking the same way it was the day my parents bought it for me new. Actually the particular one I have was played by Doc Severinsen. Living in LA this music shop I bought it from told me a story about how Doc bought 4 to give to his "band buddies" He tested all 4 to make sure they passed his liking. 3 of the guys kept theirs and mine was given back by the band buddie who did not want it. I got it. The valves have always been lighting fast for double tonguing Zorba the Greek. The larger bore has always allowed room to scream in the upper register. The constructionof the free flowing tubes allow a mellow orchestral tone if needed. You will never be under impressed with this horn. Your friends will always want to try your legendary Eterna. Best...

The most versatile trumpet ever...!

By SJB

Comments about Getzen 900S Eterna Classic Series Bb Trumpet:

I have owned a Large Bore Getzen Severinsen since 1969. I always come back to this horn as my favorite. It can be bright or dark.. scream or whisper... a soft melody. I have had the horn replated twice and the leadpipe replaced and it plays as good as the day I picked it up. I also own a Getzen Eterna C and another Getzen Cornet. All three horns outblow and outplay the Big Name horns. You can't find a better value or playing horn for the money.

Excellent pro quality at bargain price

By L Griffith

from Minneapolis Minnesota

Comments about Getzen 900S Eterna Classic Series Bb Trumpet:

The Getzen Eterna 900S, as a return to the Severinsen Eterna of the 60s, is probably the best bargain available for a pro quality trumpet. This trumpet keeps pace with them all, at a fraction of the price, and features the best valve section on the market. Also, it comes with an outstanding case - one of the best offered by any brand. I would have saved myself a fortune if I'd tried Getzen years ago.

Never Played another since!

By Wayne Daniels

from Kill Devil Hills, NC USA

Comments about Getzen 900S Eterna Classic Series Bb Trumpet:

I've played the Getzen Eterna since my first Severinsen model in 1974 while in high school. I liked it so much that I bought another one online in 1994. I tried many trumpets, but couldn't find its equal for the work I was doing. It had the perfect lead sound in all registers. I'm retired now but still hang on to one "just in case."

Worth your try

By Blaine

from Cincinnati, OH

Comments about Getzen 900S Eterna Classic Series Bb Trumpet:

The Getzen Eterna 900 has a lot going for it that most advanced trumpet players will greatly appreciate. Bright, solid tone that is consistent from low to high range with no intonation surprises; incredibly fast valves that are light to the touch and bounce free; bright silver finish that is flawless and more visually striking, almost chrome-like, when compared to other silver horns; and good overall feel, not heavy but solid, with comfortable traditional hand positioning without a trendy, awkward pinky-ring (I just don't like those big hoops, but that is just my preference) on the valve hand. There is not one perfect horn for every player, but every trumpeter looking for a pro horn needs to try one of these. If you are a trumpet snob (don't try to deny it) and think that your trumpet status comes with owning a certain name horn, then you are likely missing out on one of the nicest playing horns outside of a total custom unit. I know you've already read that the Getzen valves are good. Let me emphasize that these valves, from day 1 to decades down the line after heavy use, are undoubtedly the best you'll ever feel. They will respond to anything you can finger at any speed and always be reset and ready to go again. And even when played hard, they are so smooth and light to the touch, with no reset bounce that is typical in most other horns. They will feel a little strange to those use to the longer Benge valve stroke, but you'll quickly adapt to the shorter feel. Conn V1 players will think the valve stroke is a tad longer, but you'll barely notice for long because they are faster. Just try these valves you'll wonder why more manufacturers don't use them.I also like the water keys compared to the traditional spit valves, but that item is not a top concern unless you are now playing a horn where you have to pull out the 3rd valve slide to dump the condensation. Final thought: there are many good reasons why so many folks bought these horns when they were formerly named the Eterna - Doc Severinsen model. After playing one, you'll clearly understand why they are still one hot trumpet, and one that you'll probably want to play for a long time to come.

My Favorite Horn

By Michelle-44qOB

from Wisconsin, USA

Comments about Getzen 900S Eterna Classic Series Bb Trumpet:

Only a couple days ago, I purchases my Eterna Classic 900S. After trying out many different brands, I decided on the Getzen. One, because of the cost. It also has very good valves, and looked the best. It has a great sound and I would recommend it to any trumpet player of any ability. Also, Getzen is located in Wisconsin, so I was supporting our local businesses. I can't believe how much better this trumpet playing in my jazz band than my Yamaha did. The valves are great. GETZEN ROCKS!!

Diamond in a showcase!!!!!!

Comments about Getzen 900S Eterna Classic Series Bb Trumpet:

I won't question the design or quality. My first Getzen, with no doubt was designed to perform better than my Mother & I had ever imagined. Although it was a Student model, the sound I was able to create with it was "Pro" Quality as I was told by Instructor's and other Listeners. This Horn however, exceeds my own expectations! The feeling in my hands, ears&eyes I would describe as "Brass, Wind, & Fire!"It's beautiful thing!

tone is centered and easy to jump between notes, giving more accuracy in hitting right notes.

By Joel-QKQud

from Dallas-Fort Worth

Comments about Getzen 900S Eterna Classic Series Bb Trumpet:

Bought a new 900s getzen eterna classic, after testing a lower priced more beautifully made trumpet. This one will be my second horn to take on one month trips in lieu of shlepping my 1950s Martin Committee model (in my mind, it's worth plenty of money used and maybe irreplaceable). Never played a Getzen before but stumbled on the recommendation from a repair shop who said Getzen was probably the best horn today - but none were as good as my old Martin (new ones are not as good). After playing it for two weeks, the Getzen is terrific AND very DIFFERENT sounding and playing from the Martin Committee model...... while I love my old Martin, this Getzen is a pretty special horn. Prior to buying it, I tried Yamahas, Bach's, Conn's, and F. Schmidt (the best next to the Getzen 900s in my opinion).
