works very well for me and my Conn Flugelhorn!
Comments about Denis Wick Flugelhorn Mouthpiece in Gold:
I ordered this mouthpiece on the basis of some online recommendations, which said it worked well with the horn I'd just ordered. My new horn, a Conn Vintage IFR, sounded good with the stock mouthpiece included in its case, but, to my surprise, it sounded very different and even better with the Dennis Wick. With the Wick, the sound was mellower, making for more contrast with a trumpet timbre. Also, the tone was purer, clearer, more centered, and with a more even and consistent quality from low to high register. I realize that different folks have different sounds they're searching for, plus we're all physically different, so certainly it's not the mouthpiece for everyone. For example, when I use the Wick, the horn plays more softly. For me this is not an issue, as a matter of fact, I consider it a positive thing. Others may feel differently about this trait, or perhaps because of a difference of embouchure and approach, maybe the Wick does NOT make their horn play softer. I feel I can only speak for myself on such a personal issue as mouthpiece choice. Bottom line though: I am thrilled with the 2 FL mouthpiece, and feel it matches my Conn Flugelhorn perfectly.

A little dissappointed
Comments about Denis Wick Flugelhorn Mouthpiece in Gold:
Based upon other Barrington flugel reviews, I had read, I purchased the 4FL thinking I'd get a significant difference in the tone on my Barrington flugel but it sounds very similar to the stock mouthpiece and is harder to play in the upper register. I also got a Bach 5C which plays much easier in the upper register.
