exceptional quality for a cup mute

Ask me a question

Comments about Denis Wick DW5529 Trombone Adjustable Cup Mute:

The Denis Wick spun aluminum cup mute surpised me as to the quality of materials and workmanship. Both are excellent. It is heavier duty than I anticipated and the fit of the adjustable cup and the corks are evidence of top workmanship and materials.

Good mute, needs alterations

Comments about Denis Wick DW5529 Trombone Adjustable Cup Mute:

Very good sounding mute. You can use it as a straight or cup mute if you are fast enough and the music permits. Adjustable cup is excellent, but plastic rim on edge of cup loosens. You will need to glue this on. The neck of the mute has a one inch covering of thin felt-like material. It is too thin to protect against mute dings and denting. If you glue a thin ring of cork around the mute opening, this will solve both of the above problems. The sound will still be very good. All in all, a superior mute once these defects are fixed.
