Very good horn

By Mark Garety

from Auburn, IN

Comments about Bach LR18037 Stradivarius Series Bb Trumpet:

I am a student at Purdue University and I have been playing my reversed leadpipe, model 43 Strad for 5 years now. I upgraded from an old Bundy that my dad played when he was in high school. This is my favorite horn. When I made the purchase, I tested the horn agains several other professional model horns to choose the one that fit me the best. This one stuck out to me even over other model strads. I love the reverse leadpipe, and the projection of this horn is awesome. This horn, however, can be bright at times, especially if you have a tendency to play on the bright side. I upgraded it last year with the gold trim kit with the heavy valve caps. That really darkened up the tone. I would recommend that to anyone who plays on the bright side. I wouldn't say that this is the best horn made, but it is very good. It was the best horn for me, I even prefer it over the Conn Vintage One. I am in love with mine, but I recommend testing out several horns to find what you play the best on.

Previously played a student model and this trumpet blows it away. It feels more open when you play it. Beautiful tone and sound quality.

The Best Trumpet Ever!!

By Cody Kelms

from Las Vegas, Nevada

Comments about Bach LR18037 Stradivarius Series Bb Trumpet:

An awsome trumpet if you're in 8th or 9th grade. If you are looking to continue to play the trumpet in high school then I highy recommend this Bach. For the best results, buy this proffessional trumpet!!

I really liked the lacquer finish on it and I just loved how much your selling it for. The only other time I saw a trumpet like that, it's price was $3,900!!

great combination

By Andrew-E__vs

from East Coast

Comments about Bach LR18037 Stradivarius Series Bb Trumpet:

The LR models have a very quick response, but can still sound very big and dark in an orchestral setting. I would suggest the 72 bell for an orchestra. It has a huge sound that resonates well. The reverse lead pipe makes the horn very free-blowing. I find that my high register is also more secure with it.

Very free blowing, but controlled

By Stephen Huebner

from chicago

Comments about Bach LR18037 Stradivarius Series Bb Trumpet:

I received my Bach S180LR 37 bell on Friday. I played a church wedding with it on Saturday, and was amazed at the projection and ease of playing. Everything slots extremely well, and the upper register easily speaks out. I have not been a fan of the traditional Bach Strad, but this is so free blowing and easy to play-its a revelation.

Superior Horn

By Zac B.

from Indiana

Comments about Bach LR18037 Stradivarius Series Bb Trumpet:

I purchased this horn 2 years ago, and have used it as my principal horn for those two years. It is very free blowing. The valves are beautiful though a little touchy and require a fair amount of care. It plays with a very open quality and is great for jazz work due to the lightweight body. It doesn't brighten the sound too much. Intonation is good, but due to the free blowing nature, it is not a starter horn. I am a professional euphonium player though so I play a large bore, and appreciate the freeblowing nature.

Great horn! Superior intonation and response. The reverse leadpipe gives this horn a very open, free blowing feel. Try it. You won't be disappointed!
