This really is a great mute! I use it for orchestral work, and it's consistently in tune and has incredible projection and volume. It plays very openly, without resistance... I have to be careful with this thing! It's not for every use, but it certainly works great for carrying muted parts above a full orchestra.

I was looking for a new mute for practice at home. I have a cheap plastic one that can't compare. I just got this mute today and I was delayed playing it, but when I got to it, I was amazed! It was well worth the wait. When I first played it I couldn't tell that I was muted. It has such a clean, crisp sound. Some mutes I have tried limit my range, but this mute didn't. It sounded like it was muted, but didn't feel like it.

I love this mute. It's loud and crisp. I've played several straight and this is by far the best. I can be heard over my whole band. The mute sounds good throughout the scale.

I really like this mute.The sound is very crisp and clean, which is just the sound you would want out of a straight mute.Especially since a lot of compositions have trumpet solos with straight mutes.I would recommend this to any Jazz musician, or any musician for that matter.
