This mouth piece is really great. The clarity and tone of upper register notes is so amazing. I have been commented on how much my tone improves in the upper register. I really love this mouth piece. I would recommend this to someone looking for a third or fourth mouthpiece. Mouthpieces are unique for everyone, so this isn't for everybody but it still is great.

I would use this mouthpiece only if you want to play really loud like marching band. It is somewhat bright, but the sound is powerful. I like the range too.

I got this mouthpiece about three weeks ago and my range has already increased by half an octive and is still going up. The only down sides about this mouth piece is that it gives a very bright tone when played. It's very noticiable in the lower registers. Also, its harder to play low notes and my low range has decreased but is getting better. One thing that i have recently noticed is that its harder for my to play as loud on this mouth piece. Over all tho, i think this is a very good mouth piece and i would recommend it to anyone looking to increase there range.

I was skeptical when I heard about this mouthpiece. I read all the reviews and listened to some songs where it was used. I decided I would get it. I started playing in the mid-range and it sounded just like my old Bach 7C. I started to go up the staff. I got to what was my limit, a double G above the staff. I didn't have to strain to get it like in the past. I started playing around in the upper range and eventually was able to play a double C. This is the best mouthpiece I have ever played on. It is worth every penny. Great dark tone in the low range.

I recently ordered a lead 342 and an opera 545 and they are both amazing! They both carry very unique sounds. The lead can cut through a whole trumpet line with it's cutting power while maintaining control, but not being too bright like most of the Schilkes. I'm more amazed for its sound rather than how much easier it is to play to play in the upper register, seeing that my range is already very good. (Double C on a standard 3c). The opera 545 slots in almost like a cornet if you go really easy on it. Great for subtle, smooth jazz. The opera 545 is fairly easy to adjust to, but like most lead mouthpieces, you'll need to spend some time to get the "feel" for the lead 342. In a matter of days, (if you practice) you should see positive results, and you'll have your trumpet section bowing to you in no time!

This mouth piece had a great affect. I have never been able to hit even a "high" C. Now I can hit the C one octave higher than that one with ease! It was amazing.

I just got the mouthpiece two days ago, and already see a big difference in my range. It shot by almost a whole octave after only about 4 hours of playing, to get used to it. The only downside, is that if you play with an underbite, or if you don't have extremely good breath support (Which is a must for any high playing), it won't work for you. So, before ordering, I would consider researching how to correctly play without using an underbite, and start using good breath support, so when you DO get it, it makes it easier. DOES take a while to get used to, but all in all, I think it's worth the money, and I would like to thank the inventor of this mouthpiece, for improving my sound.

I have just recently received the Lead mouthpiece. At first I was very skeptical on buying one of this because of the some of the bad reviews it got and my trumpet teacher said he wasn't able to play on one of these either. But it did get some good reviews, so I decided to try it. My range has increased about 3 or 4 half steps and they are very clear. The tone, however, is very bright, but when you're playing lead trumpet you sometimes want that. But I have come to the conclusion that these mouthpieces aren't for everyone. Some people complained about how it ruins your regular mouthpiece chops. So what I am doing, is only using the mouthpiece for screaming stuff, and my Schilke 14A4A for everything else. I could see where immobilizing your bottom lip could ruin your emboucher, so I would recommend off and on playing with it. But it's a wonderful mouthpiece for those who cam manage to make a sound on it. Hope this review was helpful.

I am a trumpet player at my high school, and a week ago my lead version came in, and as soon as I tried it I noticed my high register was more in tune than usual. But this wasn't all that came with my surprise, my endurance was great, I was able to hit triple high C's after a long time of playing ...its just great!

I like these mouthpieces because they perform as advertised. More high range, easier high register and lots more endurance. But don't just believe me. Look carefully at these comments from other players. These reviews are a great idea aren't they? Also, If you would like to see more, take a look at the Asymmetric website. There are about fifty responses there from players who currently use Asymmetric mouthpieces. See what you think. They're all positive because that's the only kind we've gotten. Negatives are reflected by mouthpiece returns which have consistently averaged less than one percent. Says it all.
