Good student horn

Comments about Amati ABB 221 Series 3-Valve 4/4 BBb Tuba:

The demonstration model that I tested had almost frozen valves, but other than that I think the sound wouldn't have changed much. You couldn't get the sound to break up, which is a great thing in a student tuba, and you also couldn't get it to "rip", which is good for later tuba students. The tuba wasn't as agile as I would have liked though. It was light and small compared to the towering Yamaha YBB-201, and it was easy to carry. Overall, a good student horn.
