I was a little worried when I bought this strange horn made by a company without a website, but it cost so little and I desperately needed it for an upcoming performance. That was a year ago, and I've been happy with it to this day. It looks beautiful and everything on it works as long as you maintain it (slides, valves, trigger...). It's definitely on the darker, mellower side of the spectrum: it's great if you want to sound like Chet Baker, Thad Jones, or Roy Hargrove. If you want to sound like Clark Terry, this is not the horn for you. It puts out a wonderfully dark, airy sound that's great for everything from ballads to sambas. The action's not too heavy and it lets you move your fingers fast enough to bebop your way through a tune. I honestly don't know how it compares to big-time professional horns because I don't own one, but it's an excellent beginner horn.

I can't put out a good sound in the upper register with the mouthpiece it comes with. I've had to get a "real" one, but with all mouthpieces, there are probably some people out there that sound great on it. The case it comes with can't handle much wear and tear. It once slipped out of my hands, fell 4 feet and got a big crack on one of the corners that just keeps getting bigger. I would recommend getting a "real" case (like a ProTec, Marcus Bonna, or Raw Brass), or even better just put it in your combo case (because you're probably not gigging on only a flugel anyway).

I received the item a day earlier than expected. It came very well packed. A nice little case not soft shell but not wooden, fiberglass looking. It sounds great and looks beautiful. Very nice finish and great tone. The combo rose silver and brass is very sharp. The Black friday sale price was such a deal I could not pass it up and have had others say I should have ordered one for them.. Great product great service and great price what more could you ask for.

Just received the horn less than a week( to Canada) after ordering actually a day earlier than expected great service. The horn came well packed with a nice little case . Looks great nice finish with rose bell. Everything worked smoothly just needed a little valve oil. Even had a pair of gloves, mouthpiece and polishing cloth nice touch.
Very solid feeling has some weight to it, valves are smooth and guiet and nice mellow sound. Would recomend it. Not sure how it compares with real high end have not played them. Still trying out the mouth piece a little different than my old one but it is a matter of taste may take some getting ues to.
