Al-Cass Fast scores a 10 for me. I've been playing cornets and trumpets since 1953, so I believe I know which oil works best (For me). There was a comment concerning sticky valves on a Bach. I had a Bach stradivarius cornet and a fancy Stradivarius limited edition trumpet. The problem with sticky valves is the monel pistons. My two vintage (1957, and 1980) Conn cornets and trumpets have crysteel valves and in all the years I've used Al-Cass, not once has a valve stuck. I play professionally and I use my instruments every day so I know that the Al-Cass is best.

Not bad. Cheap in price and keeps valves smooth. But it wears off quickly though. Found myself applying it like twice a week on my trumpet, also it has a funky odor...

I've played Bach trumpets for more than a decade and have tried many different valve oils. This wasn't the best oil, but it wasn't the worst either. Sometimes the valves would become sluggish after application. The oil that I have found to work the best for me has been Blue Juice and I highly reccomend it over this product.

I've never used a valve oil that lasted so long. If I went a couple of days without playing, I always had to oil the valves again or they were sluggish. I have a King Silver Flair trumpet with strong springs, so that wasn't the problem. Now I oil my valves and I don't have to oil again for quite a long time, AND they stay slick as water on ice. This Cass oil is really great. Best I've ever used, bar none! No ugly kerosene smell either.
