This is basic, but wonderful. As a starter, it really showed me how to get a basic groove going and sound like I know what I'm doing. Sandy Gennaro is a great teacher. I'm very glad I got this DVD.

We ordered a set of drums for my 9 year old boy and got a copy of this DVD as part of his Christmas present. My kid, who had never even touched a set of drums before helped me set up his drum set and then we watched this DVD together. He watched about half of it, shut it off and sat down at the drums and started off doing the basic rock beat just like the instructor on the video. Mind you that it was just simple counting, but the point here is that the instruction was very clear and informative. This is definitely a great first step for someone just starting out - regardless of age. It beats the price of a lesson, but give a great overview of the instrument and gets you started. So that when you do take up your lessons you will have a head start. Well worth the price.
