No matter what style of guitar you play, you will love this DVD! This DVD helps viewers think like musicians. Using familiar tunes, Fred Sokolow teaches the movable fretboard patterns all the pros use. Guitarists will learn how to solo and play back-up in all keys, all over the fretboard; play movable chords and chord progressions; play chord-based licks and arpeggios; jam or play melodies with the blues box and with pentatonic and major scales; and much more. The accompanying booklet comes complete with easy-to-follow notation and diagrams which correspond exactly to the DVD. 62 minutes.

Lot of info for a nominal cost

Comments about Hal Leonard Fretboard Roadmaps DVD:

The information that is given in this DVD can be used by beginners-like me- or mid level to even more seasoned players. The info is presented in a matter of fact way, and would take probably a year of lessons to get this information down and understood. When I ordered this dvd I also ordered the acoustic guitar fretboard roadmaps book and play aloong cd. Sadly the video does NOT exactly co inside with the book. Yes there is a Tab lesson book that comes with the dvd, but the book also written by Mr Sokolov contains a lot more information. A whole lot of meat. If the dvd and the (sold seperately) book were to coinside with each other I would have given this a 5 out of 5 star rating. Pros-lots of information that will take months for the beginner to average musician to digest and comprehend-certainly enough to keep their interest and probably peak it for more knowledge. DVD DOES follow the tab sheets included in the dvd case. Cons-Dvd does not co inside with the sold seperately book/cd combo. Good information, presented matter of factly, and there is a web addy given incase you have any questions about technic given or explained.
