The lightweight swamp ash brings out the nuances and clarity that Music Man basses are known for. Combined with a Music Man-designed Sterling active 3-band preamp, you get all the tonal combinations you could ever need. A single Music Man Humbucking pickup has alnico pole pieces for classic warm tones. The Music Man designed 6-bolt neck joint used in all the Sterling Ray basses are strong and stable with no shift in the neck pocket for superior tone transfer. The Music Man-designed bridge uses a thick saddle for precise adjustments and stability. Precise slotting on each saddle guarantees no sideways movement on the bass strings during heavy playing.

This Bass ROCKS!!! I learned on a cheap throw down Ibanez and was looking for an upgrade. Considered a mexican Fender P Bass but was drawn to the Ray 34. Built to same specs as the Stingray but about half the price. Great action and the Tone is fantastic. Huge Humbucker p/u with the active pre amp gives you so much more choices on how you customize your sound than two p/u's and a switch. It will be a LONG time until I feel I need to upgrade from this baby.

Bought this Bass for a back up to my Ibanez SR1200(soundgear). This is now my main Bass. Great sound , excellent tone. Fast neck very smooth and easy to play. Very satisfied Great Bass and a steal for the price!
